Anger Management Counseling & Training: Call 603-489-1956
When choosing to pursue Anger Management Training through the MyDiscover Model, you are required to participate two sessions, hours of standardized assessments and two sessions, hours of structured interviews. The reason is to assess for and isolate any issues you may have to managing your anger. After all, if you have not idea of what trips you up, you will indeed continue to fall. The fact of the matter is our evaluation process is an opportunity for you learn to learn what triggers your anger, pushes your buttons, sets you off. Once aware of your unique issues, you are then in the best place you could be, and that being acquiring alternative skills to managing the experience and expression of your anger. Seriously, why not, for the first time in your life, embrace the human condition that we all share, that condition being the want for competence and independence. It is through perceived or real incompetence and dependence that we respond with anger, or more specifically, an offender pattern of hostile aggression.
The standardized assessments used in this process are the Anger Disorder Scale (DiGiuseppe, R. and Tafrate, C. R, 2004) along with the Paulhus Deception Scale (Paulhus, L. D. 1999).
Note:
All participants in our programs are educated upon an efficient orientation to the process of behavioral change. The perspective participants are educated upon is the MyDiscover Model. This perspective establishes a platform for behavioral change through a cognitive-social orientation to the capability of change and the dynamics involved in that process. Each client learns to reevaluate his or her orientation of change not as a prospect of self-denial and limitation; rather an opportunity to experience a life not lived.
Anger Management Program is divided into four modules:
In an effort to improve learning in the class, the counselors apply a method called deliberate practice. Deliberate practice combines what you know about your anger, and then shows you how you create your own personal threat which triggers your anger. By applying formative assessments to gauge what you know about your anger, helps us provide you with awareness as to how you loose control. The constructivism to our MyDiscover Model is our technical way for us to make practical to you ways to apply rational and functional anger management through your day-to-day lives.
Within each session, you will be challenged by a series of challenging questions and tasks that require you to practice anger management-like reasoning, conflict resolute, and problem solving.
For all you want-to-be Anger Management counselors out there, the method of deliberate practice helps our staff understand why some methods work and how they can be optimized to addressing our client’s specific learning styles and needs. This approach is fare more efficient and effective that workbook cookie cutter one-size-fits-all programs.
